Halloween Heads Up: Old Google Sites are Zombies

Do you have a website that you created using the "Classic" version of Google Sites? If so, that site has turned into...a...zombie!!

What does that mean?

It means that Google has been transitioning us to a new version of Google Sites for a while now, and your old Google Sites have been living on borrowed time...you might say...they're undead.

According to Google's most recent update on the matter, old ("Classic") Google Sites will be locked from editors on December 1, 2021. They will no longer be viewable by users on January 1, 2022. See the update itself for more details on this news.

How do I know if I have an old Google Site?

Old Google Sites in your account are listed at sites.google.com/classic and might look something like the image below.

New Google Sites in your account are listed at sites.google.com and might look something like the image below right.

If you are still using a Classic site, and you need to keep it, Google has a migration tool that can help you. It's not perfect, but it will help you preserve your site information as you reformat it in a new site. You can find information about migrating your site in the pages linked below.

If you are already using a new Google Site, you are all set! No zombies for you.

Migrating to and learning how to use new Sites takes time (and patience). But there are staff members here to help you! If you have questions or need assistance, please put in a request at Mojo Helpdesk.
